Gambhir praises Pant for keeping India alive in Sydney

The current wicketkeeper-batsmen, Rishabh Pant in Indian team is making a strong mark with his batting performances in test cricket. The former left-handed batsmen, Gautam Gambhir is impressed with Pant’s batting in the third test against Australia.

Rishabh Pant for has scored 97-runs in the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Although he was being nursed for a bruised elbow, the young lad took the Aussies by surprise on the final day of the third Test when India were chasing a 407-run target.

Pant came to bat at No 5, in the middle order and ahead of Hanuma Vihari.  He stole the show with his batting against the Australian bowling attack. His innings included 3 sixes and 12 fours, which promoted towards the Indian victory.

However, the injuries of Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari missed the chances of a 2-1 lead in the series to India. Gambhir said that Pant played a major role in keeping the tourists alive in the game which also impressed him.
