Mithali Raj optimistic on women’s cricket to return back soon

In a recent interview, the Indian captain of ODI’s for women- Mithali Raj spoke about the team returning back to cricket, amid the pandemic. She reckons confidence in the mini tournament that will commence in November.

Mithali believes that the women’s team would be keeping up their spirits for the game and enough practice gets on before the tour starts. The much expected T20 Challenge in November will be commencing in UAE, she said.

She strongly determines that the T20 league would be a success in the way it’s happening with the men’s cricket in UAE now. However, there are just approximately 40 more days for the league to kick-start.

It’s been so long since any tournament for Indian women took place. The last match that the girls placed was in the T20 World Cup completed in March this year. Although it was quite some time since the players had warmed up, Mithali comes up with saying that the girls can return back strongly to cricket.

She has a great confidence as there were sessions related to anxiety and uncertainties that their psychologist has taken since the start of pandemic. And she also said that team’s coach WV Raman was supportive enough to take up the upcoming challenges.
