varying thoughts of Dhoni’s participation in the training camps

It is expected to see BCCI conducting training camps for the men’s team, starting from next month. In case the players are participating in training after the approval of BCCI, who would be in the camps? The question rolls around MS Dhoni participating in training. However seniors and former cricketers have varying thoughts of Dhoni’s participation in the training camps.

The expectation of 6 weeks camp starting from July 2020 might see some interesting developments. The players participating would be in view of the upcoming T20I World Cup which is actually scheduled during Oct-Nov in Australia. If there’s a postponement of the WC, the indefinitely postponed mega tournament IPL might be in place.

So Dhoni is expected to participate in the camps while chairman of selectors MSK Prasad believes his presence would be great. However Dhoni’s participation completely depends on what he decides about his future. If he wishes to play, the team would have better motivation, said Prasad.

Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra reckons Dhoni’s presence in the training camps would matter a lot. The offspinner Harbajan Singh wants to see few players such as Suryakumar Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. These young cricketers in the Indian junior teams have a great future in the international formats, said Harbajan. However his views on Dhoni’s participation remain positive.
