Bumrah abruptly leaves Asia Cup

Sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India have confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah has returned home for personal reasons (BCCI). He is expected to miss the Group A game against Nepal.

The team might have his services on the field on Monday, September 4, given that an Associate team will be their opponent, and the day’s forecast mostly calls for rain. His precise return date is still unknown, though. It would be unfair to demand more information because those familiar with the situation insist that he has returned to India due to a personal emergency. He may be available for the following match, which is set for almost a week later on September 10, as he is likely to return sooner rather than later. It appears that he obtained approval from the BCCI.

According to the original schedule, if India qualifies, they will almost certainly face Pakistan in a Super Four match on that date. The other games are scheduled for September 12 and 15, with the opposition still being determined. There will be two teams each from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. If India advances, the final will be held on September 17.

Also, according to Live Cricket Score, efforts are being made to relocate the games to Pallekele or Dambulla, where the weather is expected to be more favourable.
