Prasidh Krishna ruled out of IPL 2023 due to recovery

Prasidh Krishna, an Indian bowler, will not play in the 2023 Indian Premier League due to ongoing back issues. Krishna has been receiving treatment for a stress fracture since August 2022, when he last participated in a competitive game. According to Live Cricket Score, the Karnataka bowler underwent surgery for a lumbar stress fracture and now needs a protracted rehabilitation period to recover fully. Krishna notified his IPL team, Rajasthan Royals, that he would be skipping the competition. “The Rajasthan Royals would like to announce that spinner Prasidh Krishna, 26, will miss the 2023 Indian Premier League season due to stress fracture surgery and recuperation.”

Prior to the 2022 season, Rajasthan Royals spent up to INR 10 Crore to obtain the fast bowler’s services. He had previously played for Kolkata Knight Riders. For the first time since the tournament’s inception in 2008, Rajasthan Royals advanced to the final thanks to the 19 wickets Prasidh collected in 17 innings.

The team said that a replacement for Prasidh would be sought out and named in due course for the 2023 campaign. Among of the seam bowling alternatives they have are Kuldeep Sen, Kuldip Yadav, Navdeep Saini, KM Asif, Obed McCoy, Trent Boult, and Jason Holder.
