Shardul Thakur and Yashasvi Jaiswal have returned to the Mumbai setup, with both named in the 16-member squad for the Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Karnataka, scheduled to begin on February 6, reports Live Cricket Score.

The duo had missed Mumbai’s recent fixtures for different reasons. Thakur had been sidelined due to injury, while Jaiswal’s absence raised eyebrows, with even the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) reportedly unaware of the exact reason despite him not having any international commitments at the time.

Jaiswal’s non-availability for the latter stages of the league phase did not sit well with the MCA, particularly given Mumbai’s stature as the most successful side in Ranji Trophy history, with 42 titles to their name.

Thakur will lead the side for the quarterfinal clash, with Mumbai fielding a strong squad that blends experience and youth as they chase another title.

Mumbai squad:
Shardul Thakur (capt), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Musheer Khan, Akhil Herwadkar, Siddesh Lad, Sarfaraz Khan, Aakash Anand (wk), Hardik Tamore (wk), Sairaj Patil, Shams Mulani, Tanush Kotian, Tushar Deshpande, Mohit Awasth, Omkar Tarmale, Divyesh Saxena, Suryansh Shedge.
