ICC board has virtually met on 10 June to discuss the T20 World Cup

The International cricket council (ICC) board had previously met in May to take a stance on whether or not to conduct World Cup T20 this year. But the decision then was deferred due to the continuing coronavirus pandemic situation.

Again the ICC board has virtually met on 10 June to discuss the T20 World Cup that’s scheduled during Oct-Nov in Australia. However the meeting turned out with no final decision of conducting the big tournament. The unsuccessful meeting for the second consecutive time is due to the reason many participating nations are still in the lockdown stage while it’s just 4 months left from now.

So the board had no clue of the future travel restrictions from the participating nations that are still in place now. However the hosting nation Australia has started relaxation rules. While there might be a decision on the World Cup in its next board meeting by ICC, BCCI is looking into plans to conduct IPL in the WC set window. But IPL is possible this year, only if WC is being postponed.
