Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma Named In India's T20I Squad

Young Indian batsmen Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma received their first T20I national call-ups after being selected for the West Indies Tour T20I squad. Suryakumar Yadav will serve as Hardik Pandya’s assistant in the five-match competition. Despite being in the ODI and Test teams for the West Indies series, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not included in the T20I squad. The Indian T20I team has welcomed back leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi. Ajit Agarkar, the newly appointed BCCI chief selector who assumed the position on Tuesday, has chosen his first team as of yet.

Live Cricket Score reports that with a strike rate of 142 or above in 47 games, while batting at No. 5, Varma has been a significant member of the Mumbai Indians team for the past two seasons, which has undoubtedly caught the notice of the national selection panel, which Ajit Agarkar helms. On the other side, Jaiswal received his first call-up for a Test match during the West Indies series.

Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill are the two starters in the lineup in addition to Jaiswal. The alternatives for wicketkeeping are Kishan and Sanju Samson. The two players in the lineup with the most experience are Suryakumar and Pandya. Four pacers—Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, Avesh Khan, and Mukesh Kumar—as well as four spinners—Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi—have also been chosen by the selectors.

Rinku Singh, a powerful batter for Kolkata Knight Riders, was also a candidate before the squad was chosen, but he was not.
