Tamim Iqbal ruled out of ODI series against India

After captain Tamim Iqbal was ruled out of the three-match ODI series against India, Bangladesh was dealt a severe blow. For the first Test, the senior batsman is also questionable. Tamim was given two weeks of rest after suffering a groyne injury in the warm-up game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on November 30. Tamim will have to work quickly to get to the first Test since it starts on December 14 and the ODI series ends on December 10.

After Taskin Ahmed was unable to play in the opening match of the series, Bangladesh also suffered a setback in the fast bowling department. Given his recent form, the Bangladeshi fast was predicted to spearhead the home team’s pace attack. For the time being, Shoriful Islam has been called up to the ODI team as a backup.

Taskin is unable to play in the first ODI due to a recurrence of his back injury, BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin said on Thursday. Before making any more decisions regarding his participation, he continued, “We will be watching his growth.”
