ICC Board to finalize postponement of Oct-Nov 2020 T20 World Cup to 2022

The ICC is meeting up via tele-conference on 28 May (tomorrow) to discuss the future of cricket. With the ongoing pandemic of coronavirus, ICC has been holding digital conferences to discuss the developments at each point of time. This time ICC might finalize the calendar event of the World Cup 2020 that’s scheduled in Australia.

The unusual existence and consequences of the virus spread around the world has affected all the activities including cricket. The famous Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 was postponed indefinitely after BCCI decided to hold on the actual schedule from April to later this year. So the postponement of the T20 World Cup might replace the IPL, and the formal decision is awaited.

Also as the nations have faced severe losses with halted tournaments, the discussions of ICC would be motivating to fix further schedules depending on the government policies on health measures. Many nations will be looking forward to figure out limited and test match series with the closed door competitions on cards.
