The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) always recognizes and nominates the players for the famous national Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, Arjuna award, etc.

The Indian opener Rohit Sharma was one of the nominees in cricket for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.

January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2019 is the period of consideration for the credibility of players that they showed and so being nominated.

Rohit had a great time during this course of 3 years while he became the first T20I cricketer to score four centuries along with eight 150-plus scores in One Day Internationals (ODI’s).

Alongside, Rohit scored 18 ODI centuries from start of 2017, while a total of 28 centuries promoted him to stand at the fourth position in the list of leading century-makers.

Rohit was the first player in world cup history to score five ODI centuries in a single edition, that was held in 2019.
