Shreyas Iyer declared fit ahead of Delhi Test

The BCCI announced on Tuesday that Shreyas Iyer had been cleared to play in the Delhi Test against Australia. Iyer will make his comeback after missing the first Test of the series owing to a back issue. Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri gave the in-form Suryakumar Yadav his first Test cap in Iyer’s absence, but SKY was cheaply bowled for eight runs, according to Live Cricket Score. Iyer had recently helped his team chase down a challenging mark with a valiant 29-run performance in the second innings of the second Test match against Bangladesh.

Iyer was, however, unable to play in the limited-overs series against New Zealand. Iyer is eager to get going against the Australians after his last appearance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Iyer has scored 624 runs at an average of 56.73 throughout the course of seven Test matches, including one century and five 50s.

India, meanwhile, defeated Australia in the first Test match by innings and 132 runs to take a 1-0 series lead and raise their prospects of reaching the World Test Championship final. With taking 15 wickets between them, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rohit Sharma scored 120 runs.
